Who We Are

DeRisk seeks to be different from other investment and insurance intermediaries through:

  • DFI insurer focus: we were the first authorized MIGA insurance marketing agent, and have completed more than 25 transactions with MIGA and OPIC

  • Experience on the ground: we work in the places our clients work

  • Focus on frontier markets: conflict and post-conflict regions, sub-Saharan Africa and poor countries

  • Devotion to the long term: business is only good if society and the environment are sustained

  • Bridging the private-public divide: we make public institutions work for the private sector

  • Independence: we can work with the best insurance and financial institutions

The people behind DeRisk have worked extensively in risk mitigation, developing markets, management consulting, private sector development, development finance and donor institutions, private equity and sustainable investment. DeRisk has on-the-ground experience in 5 continents.
